School's History... 200 Years of Education
On the corner of Church Lane and Baily Road is a landmark rich with history in education. Established in 1811, stood a schoolhouse called “The Palmer School,” named after Aaron Palmer, a local man from a prestigious family, who donated $75 to help create the first schoolhouse in Yeadon. This place continued to thrive and the vision of enriched education was upheld well into the 20th century by Yeadon’s Justice of Peace, William B. Evans. The school’s current name commemorates this man’s contributions to the Yeadon community.
